bizarre forum or is it just me?

This isn't a reply but an attempt to post once so that I can view links. But as long as I'm forced to post, let me say this: I just joined this forum to find out about where to get a decent ringtone since those provided with my phone are so awful, and am amazed at how the forum seems to be set up. Administrators posting messages about free ringtones that turn out to cost 19.99 a MONTH???? and a forum that won't let me view links until I POST A MESSAGE?????????

Okay here's my message-- unless I'm not understanding what i've seen so far, this is the most manipulative forum I've ever encountered on the internet.

I moved your post to its own thread. Let me try to explain.

- as far as not being able to see a link this helps the lurkers make a post and help them become part of the community. This is to simply encourage people to participate in the community.
- links posted that had previously offered free ringtones are found here and some of them eventually change hands and become redirects to commercial paid products. It is the duty of anyone who sees them to "report" the post for being invalid. We do our best to find them and delete them but we dont get all of them. We dont push anything on anyone. Manipulate? I hardly think so.

If you wanted to create a simple message to let us know you joined and are now part of the community you could of easily created a post in the To view links in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily. area and received the lowly 1 post minimum to see links.

this is the most manipulative forum I've ever encountered on the internet.

If thats manipulative then im guilty..and for the record finding totally free ringtone sites are getting fewer and fewer. We are working on a feature where we will offer free ringtones based on a request basis for members based on criteria that we are deciding on. if you do find a free ringtone site feel free to post the link.

If you do see a banner that offers ringtones for a fee then those are our sponsors. We have bills to pay to help keep all of our FREE areas free for our users and believe me when I say that they dont provide enough income and I end up paying for the site out of my own pocket.

All I ask is that our members post a bit and participate. If thats too ask for much then I am guilty

very true IMO. got me to join + participate. very good idea for a forum of this nature.

its all we ask. Post, join a conversation, share info. We don't charge a fee so I think asking people to post isn't too much to ask. Isn't that the point of a forum in the first place?

now i guess i might be confused too. dont know if this is the right one but i can say that if it is. I get lost and confused too. To the first response have some manners and understand that not all of us dont have lives where we do this everey day nor do we have the time.

Here is my one post too. I'm wondering if there are other AT&T forums that are very active... I am considering a move from Sprint, and I'm a member of several sprint forums and I really want to find as much info as I can from current ATT users before I decide for sure...

there are many but we are the only dedicated one. please use your own thread such as using the introduction section to ask a question instead of thread jacking someone else's posting ;)
