| Samsung SGH-A727 ok i am going to do a quick review of my newly acquired Samsung SGH-A727
what i like most of my phone is its looks. the ultra slim factor and bright screen are second to none. 3G technology is blazing fast even with a 32k cingular sim card.
memory card slot and stereo bluetooth are a nice addition to the package.
what i like least about it has to do also with its ultra slim factor!
it is so slim and looks so delicate that i feel like it is going to fall and suffer a nasty shock to its internal electronics. kind of like a love hate thing.
the UI is not hard to learn or operate, however, it is annoying to have to take the long way to simple operations such as sending a message, or having popups when scrolling thru recent calls. really not needed.
the keypad is not the best either, had they used a similar keypad as the "trace". Tmobile's version of this phone would have been much better.
the sound quality is amazing, comparing to my other samsung it is like night and day.
people come in loud and clear and i don't even have to boost the volume all the way up.
keeping it 2 notches under loudest is great. and take into consideration my hearing is not the best.
having an mp3 player and minisd card slot combination is a godsend for music lovers.
what i like best about the mp3 player features is that the actual phone is not packed with play, stop, ff, or rw keys on the actual phone making the phone look more like an ipod than a phone.
The 220 x 176 screen is awesome. the colors are crisp and lively, much like any other newer samsung. the screen is just amazing. unfortunately, i have not had the chance to watch any videos. but i am very sure streaming video through 3G technology must play just like a mini television.
The 1.3 mp camera is nothing to write home about. considering i have a 1.3 mp camera on my nokia the difference is very much there. the older nokia cam will blow away the newer samsung's camera. but the camera is not the reason why i bought this phone. i knew the camera was not going to be one of the better ones.
Reception is very very good. i was actually surprised at how the phone held a strong signal way in the back of the supermarket where my other phones fail.
i can say the supermarket is the place where i put phones to the signal test.
talking to the wife from the meat dpt was a nice surprise. she actually reminded me to get pork chops since i like them so much.
The battery was another pleasant surprise. for being such a slim phone, the battery held out for 3 days of moderate use where my other slim slider samsung barely makes it a day of moderate use. for instance, i left the house this morning with a freshly charged battery, and i still have full bars after talking for about 30 minutes and standing by all day.
that's preety good for the slimest phone in the market.
Finally, the Speakerphone. it took my a couple of days just to figure out where the speakers were! loud sereo sound blasts right through the regular earpiece, i don't know whether the earpiece itselft doubles as speakerphone and handset from the same unit.
but i assure you the stereo sound is very nice, crisp, and clear.
all in all i am glad AT&T chose such a high end attractive and feature packed cell phone.
past candybars from att/cingular have been basic boring and featureless units leaving candy lovers yearning for more. To view links in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Your post count is 0 momentarily. |
