| Multiple Phones Reviewed There are many different phone manufacturers that exist, some being extremely popular, others so little known they might as well be nonexistent. Some of them make phones exclusive to one cell phone service provider (such as a phone only working when used with Cingular). Others make phones that are compatible with many different services, and as many can be used with all services. Here are a few phones reviews, each phone being manufactured from a different company.
The Nokia 6102i (obviously produced by Nokia) is one of the newest, most cutting-edge phones from Nokia. It has a number of great features and services. Like many phones, it has a variety of voice commands (including voice dialing), and all the standard features that have come to be expected from today’s phones (speed dial, call waiting, phone vibration). One interesting thing it has is Caller ID, but with a photo as well as a name (pretty nifty). Has standard text messaging abilities; regular text messaging, as well as instant messaging with your favorite IM client (standard text messages fees apply, of course). Like many new phones, it has the T9 text message mode (“predictive text”), which makes sending text messages much easier and quicker. It is a camera phone, and not only does it take pictures, but it records video as well. There are three camera modes, standard, portrait, and night mode. While pictures are taken at 640 x 480px, the video goes at considerably less. Can also be used as a mini-PDA, as it contains a calendar, to-do list, notes, an alarm, and more.
Samsung’s SGH-d347 is a great phone if you travel frequently. It has a quality that is hard to find these days; it is a quad-band phone, which means it can basically be used all over the world (except in some very remote areas). “Push-To-Talk” is another fantastic feature that can be used, which enables people to talk to each other by just pushing a button (exactly like a walkie-talkie [well, not exactly, but very similar]). New technology allows the phone to conduct quicker downloads of things such as music and video clips, and enables faster Internet surfing. With a 5-hour battery life (if you were continuously talking), you don’t have to worry about the battery giving out, but you may have to for your minutes.
Motorola has a new type of Razr out, the MotoRazr V3i DG. It’s still as thin as other Razrs, but with more features and utilities than previous models. The digital camera installed in the phone is 1.23 megapixel (better than some actual digital cameras), and has an 8X zoom. Other “fun features” include its ability to record and playback small video clips, and download multitudes of games. Can hold a thousand entries in the phone book, and an extra two hundred fifty in the SIM card. Like the Samsung phone previously inspected, it is a quad-band phone, and has top-quality Bluetooth technology. The high points of this phone are definitely all the fun features it has, and it has an “airplane mode”, a relatively new feature that allows applications and other things to be used on an airplane.
Phones are becoming more and more advanced, and can do things early cell phone developers never dreamed of. Some of the video games on these things are better than the original arcade games. If you’re thinking about buying a new phone, try waiting a few months, and something new and better will come out. In short, try to wait as long as you can before buying your next phone, because as these reviews show, as time goes on, more features are added and phones become exponentially better. |
