Samsung SGH D900i...

I got a Samsung D900i cell phone as a graduation gift the other day. My parents bought it unlocked from a lady who said she only used it for a few days (which is somewhat obvious because of the phones condition).

I love the phone but for some reason I no longer get service in my house... It's either at "no service" or just one or rarely two bars. I use AT&T and have never had problems with getting service inside of my house until I got this new phone.

I had to make a phone call yesterday but in order for me to make the call I had to switch back to my old phone (Sony Ericsson Z500a) because it gets full service inside of my house.

Does anyone have an idea about what is going on??? I would have thought that a new phone might have better service than a phone from around 2005..

does your sim have a 3g fireball on it?

if so press *#06# copy down the IMEI call 611 and have them update to your new device

if not call 611 tell them that you need a new sim or go to a store... but ensure the IMEI is updated

I have the same SIM card that I've had since I got my first phone... The old Cingular orange card... Could that be the problem? How much would a new SIM card cost??

Right now I have the phone set to GSM 850/1900 and I can get 1 to 2 bars now instead of just 0 to 1 when I set it to Quad Band.

I also discovered that the phone isn't storing any sent text messages... Is there anything else I am supposed to do with this unlocked phone besides get it and put my SIM card in it?

I really need to be able to get service inside my home because I don't have a home phone line... Right now I switch back to my old phone when I'm at home in case of any calls.

The new phone works great outside of my neighborhood (I also live in a "best" coverage area)... I just need to get this phone working properly with AT&T... It's a GREAT phone, I just need service at home

Thank you for the reply! I hope you can help!
