access to web on blackberry without blackberry service?

Hello I am new to AT&T (by by sprint) And I have an unlimited data plan I have a blackberry 8703 (i think) I know it is an AT&T phone my question is if i do not get blackberry service can i still access the web and or any non-RIM email service e.g. yahoo or Gmail?

no... bin order to access the web you need the data plan unles the device is wifi capable... then you need a hotspot
