Phone with camera and all is really what surpirses me. Not that tech is to doubt but where are people going ? I belive, phone should be used to make and receive calls and for camera and related, use proper digital camera, instead of camera attached with phones. Whatever claims they make about pixels and clarity, effect from digital camera is far satisfactory than one from phone camera.

There have been a spur of the moment pictures taken by phones, and the media pays you a lot for that :P

Otherwise, proper digital quality cameras are better. As you said, they only add value. Pictures aren't always top quality.

I think its essential to have camera to mobile. Because its always not possible to carry your camera so mobile camera is the best way to capture interesting pictures on the spot.

the cell phone camera can be very convenient from the point of view that you dont need to carry the two things with you: a camera and a cell, so it is much more handy having a cell phone with camera, although a camera might be much better when pic quality matters

I might think the camera were more essential if I had more memory on my phone. As it is, I can keep about 6-8 pictures, and that's about it. Not great if you're on vacation or something.
