Another thing to consider is to CID unlock your phone, totally different from SIM unlock. If you CID unlock you can just flash 8125 Cingular software and turn MDA into 8125. PM me if your interested in more info.

MMS is a function... look for picture messaging... or attachments... as well... MMS must be enabled at cingular for it to work

knowing the model of the PDA would save a lot of guessing

it allows you to remove the carrier's lock on the software so you can flash with other ROMs
